More About Miss D:

I am excited to be returning to Liberty for a sixth year; this begins the 20th year of my teaching career. This will be my 13th year teaching in Bedford County. I am a graduate of Roanoke College and Bedford County native. I have a Masters in International Education from the University of Bath and am currently working on a Masters in Political Science with Virginia Tech. I have taught multiple levels of social studies from 5th grade through 12th grade. In 2005 I moved to Turkey to teach history in an international school. Those four years changed my life and allowed me to explore my love of history and travel. Following Turkey I spent two years in Morocco where I taught history in another international school. The closeness of Morocco to Europe helped me to continue my love of travel in a very affordable manner. That time overseas was an amazing experience and I am excited to share what I have learned with my students.

Travel continues to be one of my favorite past-times; I have now visited 20 countries and still have lots to explore in the United States. In my spare time I enjoy reading and watching John Green videos and Doctor Who episodes.
